Glentoran secure the Premiership points thanks to a 1-0 victory over Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.

William Garrett headed the only goal at Stangmore Park as Glentoran clinched a victory which moved them up to fourth place in the Irish Premiership table.

Defender Garrett scored at the back post on 15 minutes after home keeper Gareth Buchanan had failed to cut out Jordan Stewart's corner from the left.

The Glens have won six and drawn two in a fine unbeaten run away from home.

They finished the game with 10 men as Aaron Boyd was sent-off for picking up a second booking in the 77th minute.

The second yellow card was for a foul on Dermot McCaffrey.

Boyd had almost scored a freak goal early in the second half when he charged down keeper Buchanan's attempted clearance.

The ball rebounded off the Glentoran player and struck the crossbar.

Dungannon's best effort to get level was a Jamie Glackin header from a Kris Lowe ball which went wide.
