Forest Green Rovers 3-1 Southport

Danny Wright's first goals for three months gave Forest Green victory over Southport.

Danny Hattersley and Karl Ledsham both had chances for the visitors, but Sam Russell made a fantastic double save.

Lee Hughes teed up Wright to slot the ball home minutes before he headed in his second from a James Norwood cross.

John O'Sullivan halved the deficit, but substitute Yan Klukowski restored the two-goal cushion with his first touch as he converted Norwood's cross.

Forest Green are now unbeaten in their last five Skrill Premier matches.

"I'm very pleased, it was tough but that was a great result for us.

"[James] Norwood was outstanding, he has been working hard in training and has been doing extra work, he was great today.

"It was one of those games where we had to dig in, but the third goal killed it."
