Aldershot Town 2-0 Chester
Brett Williams scored both goals against relegation-threatened Chester to boost Aldershot's survival hopes.
Craig Stanley set up Williams for the opener before Bradley Bubb went close to doubling the half-time advantage.
Chester's Craig Lindfield headed wide before the break, Craig Mahon tested keeper Alan Martin and John Rooney flashed a shot wide in the second half.
Jaydon Gibbs played Williams through for his 20th goal this term, ending Chester's five-match unbeaten run.
Aldershot Town boss Andy Scott told BBC Surrey:
"Full credit to them tonight, they fully deserved the victory and they get criticism when it doesn't go right but they deserve all the credit.
"A huge game tonight to keep a clean sheet and score two goals and we restricted them and that was pleasing.
"We've kept the same side for a long time and there are some players who have played a lot of football who aren't use to it.
"The players who came in had a point to prove and that's very important when a whole squad is together who are desperate to do well and everyone did well."
