Forest Green Rovers 0-2 Braintree Town

Dan Holman scored his fifth goal in as many games to help Braintree move to within five points of the play-off places with victory at Forest Green.

Rovers' James Norwood hit the bar before Holman put the Iron ahead from the penalty spot after Bernard Mensah was felled by Sam Russell.

Holman helped Mensah make it 2-0 after the break, with the on-loan Watford man pouncing on some poor Rovers defending.

In response, both Yan Klukowski and Paul Green fired wide.

Post-match: Forest Green boss Adrian Pennock

Forest Green Rovers manager Adrian Pennock told BBC Gloucestershire:

"They grind teams down and fair play to them, they came here and done a job on us.

"We did concede two poor goals, we really did.

"I think we were huffing and puffing and just needed a little bit of luck in front of goal. We couldn't break them down."
