Forest Green Rovers 0-0 Welling United

Welling goalkeeper Lee Butcher made a crucial late save to deny play-off hopefuls Forest Green Rovers victory.

Toby Ajala forced home keeper Sam Russell into the first save of the game, before Lee Hughes and James Norwood both threatened for Rovers.

Matt Taylor curled an effort over the bar and another wide as the hosts pushed for an opener after half-time.

Butcher ensured Welling escaped with a draw, denying Luke Rodgers from close range late on.

The draw leaves Forest Green two points and four places outside the play-off spots.

Adrian Pennock: Forest Green Rovers boss on Welling draw.

Forest Green Rovers manager Adrian Pennock told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"It was a good point. I thought we were the better team over the 90 minutes, with half chances here and there, but I thought conditions weren't great with the wind.

"I think everyone should be happy because they've played a lot of games recently and I'm very pleased with them all.

"I'm being very positive, there's a clean sheet, and obviously over the 90 minutes, we could and should have scored but we didn't, so we move on."
