Poyet 'wants to start next game now'

Gus Poyet jokes he "wants to start the next game now" after Sunderland finish strongly in their 2-1 defeat at Liverpool.

The Black Cats head coach credited second-half substitutes Ki Sung-Yueng and Adam Johnson for giving his side the "quality on the ball" they had been missing as they fought back from 2-0 down to create a nervy finale to the game for the hosts.

Sunderland remain in the relegation zone and are three points from safety, but have a game in hand on Crystal Palace in 17th.
