Fulham have loaned £11m striker Kostas Mitroglou back to former club Olympiakos just seven months after he arrived at Craven Cottage.

The 26-year-old made three appearances and failed to score for the Cottagers during his injury-affected time with the club.

Mitroglou signed a four-year deal when he joined Fulham on the final day of the January transfer window.

He will remain in Greece for the rest of the season.

Fulham were relegated from the Premier League in May and, since then, manager Felix Magath has bought in last season's Championship top-scorer Ross McCormack from Leeds for £11m.

But the Cottagers have made a poor start to the season, taking one point from their first five games to leave them 23rd in the table.

During his previous spell at Olympiakos, Mitroglou won five league titles and three Greek Cups.

He had scored 23 goals in 26 appearances for club and country last season prior to his move to England.
