Dundee United 2-2 Hamilton Academical

Hamilton Accies go top of the Scottish Premiership table on goal difference with Dundee United in third after a draw in which both had a man sent off.

United went ahead when Nadir Ciftci slipped the ball under keeper Michael McGovern from a couple of yards.

Accies fired back through Mickael Antoine-Curier and, despite a red card for Darian MacKinnon, took the lead through Anthony Andreu.

Ciftci was also sent off before Jaroslaw Fojut's 45th-minute leveller.

Accies had started with the same team that hammered Ross County, while United made two enforced changes to the side that won away to St Mirren, with Mario Bilate and Sean Dillon in the starting line-up.

Ciftci brought two saves from McGovern in the first 10 minutes, with United's Radoslaw Cierzniak saving at the feet of Ali Crawford in between.

But the Accies keeper was beaten when Ciftci fired past him in 17 minutes.

Cierzniak made a good stop from Danny Redmond's low shot in 25 minutes, but the leveller came three minutes later when Antonie-Curier slammed a low shot past the Polish goalkeeper.

McKinnon had been booked in an incident with Ciftci just before the goal and was then shown a second yellow card for celebrating the goal in front of the United technical area.

Undaunted, Accies grabbed the lead in 34 minutes with a thundering shot from Andreu.

Then, five minutes from half time, United were also down to 10 men when Ciftci was booked for the second time.

Having already received a yellow card in the incident with McKinnon, he got his marching orders for a hand-ball into the net.

With 45 minutes gone and half time looming, Fojut leapt to meet a Gary Mackay-Steven corner and powered his header into the top corner.

Martin Canning stopped United scoring eight minutes into the restart when he cleared Fojut's header off the line then McGovern saved a Chris Erskine shot as United pressed.

With 20 minutes left, Cierzniak cleared from the in-rushing Antoine-Curier and saved with his chest from the follow-up shot by Crawford.

Accies almost grabbed the win at the end when Mikey Devlin powered a header just over the bar, but there were no further goals to come.
