Rodgers bemoans Sturridge injury

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers criticises England's handling of Daniel Sturridge after the striker was ruled out for up to three weeks, saying it "could have been prevented".

The striker suffered a thigh strain while training with England last week and missed Monday's Euro 2016 qualifying win over Switzerland.

Rodgers says that had Sturridge been at Liverpool he would not have been training as the club has "individual" recovery programmes for players.
