Poor results behind Solskjaer exit

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's "amicable" departure as manager of Cardiff City was down to poor results and a clash of footballing philosophies with the club's owner Vincent Tan.

The Norwegian, 41, stepped down as manager on Thursday after losing more than half of his 30 matches in charge.

During that time he oversaw the club's relegation from the Premier League and had a disappointing start to life back in the Championship, collecting eight points from their first seven games.

His nine-month tenure at Cardiff is analysed by BBC Sport's David Ornstein.
