Tony Vance: Player availability crucial to Guernsey success

Guernsey won their last game at Footes Lane 8-1

Guernsey manager Tony Vance thinks home advantage is key as they prepare to face Folkestone Invicta.

The Green Lions lost 3-0 to Faversham in midweek and sit one place above Saturday's visitors in the table, having played three games more.

"Home games are a lot different as people don't have work commitments," Vance told BBC Radio Guernsey.

"If we can get our strongest group out then I've no doubt we can do very well in this league."

Vance was unable to travel to the midweek Isthmian League Division One South defeat in Faversham where they were only able to name one outfield player on the bench due to unavailability.

"Folkestone are one of, if not the, favourites," he continued.

"Before our start we were put up there as one of the favourites as well, as its transpired that's not the case.

"It's a game that I don't think we can afford to lose, we've got to go out there and try and win."
