AFC Wimbledon 2-2 Tranmere Rovers

Tranmere Rovers moved off the bottom of League Two after Armand Gnanduillet's double earned a draw at AFC Wimbledon.

Jack Smith gave the hosts the lead with a clever chip after a failed one-two with Sean Rigg down the left wing.

But the Chesterfield loanee equalised with a 25-yard effort that crept in at goalkeeper James Shea's near post.

Adebayo Akinfenwa headed in his eighth goal in nine games to put AFC Wimbledon back ahead, before Gnanduillet levelled again, nodding in Max Power's corner.

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley told BBC London 94.9:

"It's hard because you start trying to protect your lead, the players start dropping that little bit deeper and the ball starts sticking at their end.

'As the game wore on, I could have brought off several players who were starting to feel the affects of two 90 minute games over the course of this week.

'We lacked the quality in the second-half, we didn't play with as much bravery and our game wasn't as free-flowing."

Tranmere manager Micky Adams told BBC Radio Merseyside:

"In general play, particularly in the second half, I thought we were excellent. I've tried to instil into them that when there are minutes left in a game of football, don't drop your heads, keep going whatever happens, and show the spirit and determination. I think it was there in the second half.

"I would like to see Armand Gnanduillet more in and around the box. He wants to come and get involved in things, and if we are going to play to his strengths that's where he is most effective.

"But it's been a good week for us, all in all. While we've not got that win, we've got a couple of points on the board, we're unbeaten since I've been here, and we've had a good week's training."
