Notts County manager Shaun Derry says it reflects well on the club that his loan signings are eager to extend their spells at Meadow Lane.

Winger Stephen McLaughlin looks set to stay after Nottingham Forest signed Tom Ince - while Wolves' Zeli Ismail has said he is keen to remain past January.

Derry, whose side are fourth in League One, told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It is a big compliment to the whole place.

"It shows we are doing things right and that players are enjoying themselves."

McLaughlin, 24, joined in September and Wolves winger Ismail, 20, moved to Meadow Lane in the summer.

"Players just want to play and enjoy it and they also want to join a team that are successful and are flying high. At this moment we are that team - and long may it continue."

Derry added: "When you take people in, the player needs to enjoy himself and it seems like it is working at the minute.

"With Forest's blessing we will keep hold of Stephen for a bit longer and I am delighted about that.

"When you are getting players from Forest and Wolves where they have fantastic facilities to train in every day and they are taking a step back in terms of quality of the training environment, you try to do it right on the field.
