Morecambe have extended the loan spell of Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Scott Davies until 3 January.

The 27-year-old initially joined the Shrimps in August on a one-month loan deal after injuries to both Barry Roche and Andreas Arestidou.

Davies has featured four times since his return to the club.

"I'm really pleased we have managed to keep Scott for another few weeks because he has been outstanding," boss Jim Bentley told the club website.

"He made some great saves at Portsmouth on Saturday and has been excellent for us since joining.''

Davies came through the youth system at Morecambe, but moved to Highbury Stadium in 2010, three years after helping the club into the Football League in the Conference play-off final win over Exeter.
