Motherwell caretaker boss Kenny Black will be interviewed for the vacant managerial position at Fir Park.

The club's general manager Alan Burrows said the interview process is already underway but would not confirm names of other candidates.

"We thought initially Kenny was not interested in the position but Kenny and I had a conversation on Thursday and he said that he was keen to be considered," Burrows told BBC Scotland.

"So Kenny will be spoken to."

And he added: "I think we would be duty bound to do so particularly for all that he has done for this football club. Particularly in the past couple of weeks when he has held the reins through very difficult circumstances."

Burrows also said that the prospect of having new owners at the club is becoming closer and they are also being consulted over the appointment of a new manager.

Stuart McCall quit as 'Well boss at the start of November following a run of five straight league defeats.

Since Black became interim manager Motherwell have won one and lost two of their three games. The Fir Park men are third bottom of the Premiership table.
