Bristol Rovers have signed striker Jermaine Easter on an 18-month deal following his release by Millwall.

The 32-year-old, capped 12 times by Wales, had not played for the Championship side since Boxing Day and his contract was cancelled on Thursday.

Rovers, second in the Conference, are the 12th club of his 16-year career.

"I think it's quite a coup, to bring a player of Jermaine's calibre to the Memorial Stadium," chairman Nick Higgs told the club website.

Manager Darrell Clarke added: "Although Jermaine was keen to move to a club closer to his Cardiff home, he has come to us for all the right reasons.

"However the fact that he was keen to be closer to home, it gave us an advantage when it came to signing a player of his calibre."

Easter started his career at Wolves and has also played for Hartlepool, Cambridge, Boston, Stockport, Wycombe, Plymouth, Colchester, MK Dons, Swansea and Crystal Palace.

His most prolific spell came with Wycombe Wanderers and he scored 21 goals in 61 league appearances.
