Dani Parejo scored a brace as Valencia beat Sevilla in a highly-charged match to move into fourth place in La Liga.

Elsewhere, Robert Ibanez's late equaliser handed new Granada coach Abel Resino a 2-2 draw away to relegation rivals Deportivo La Coruna in his first match in charge.

At the San Mames, Javi Guerra's 78th minute strike earned Malaga a 1-1 draw at Athletic Bilbao, who ended a four-game losing streak in La Liga.
