Wycombe Wanderers 0-0 Portsmouth

Wycombe slipped to third in League Two after being held to a third draw in a row by Portsmouth at Adams Park.

Pompey had the best early chances, but Matt Tubbs was thwarted by keeper Matt Ingram and then defender Joe Jacobson.

The Chairboys almost went in front just before the break only for Jacobson to thunder a powerful shot against the crossbar from Peter Murphy's pull back.

Fred Onyedinma turned Jacobson's cross just wide but Wycombe could find no way through as the second half fizzled out.

Both Shrewsbury and Burton are now one point ahead of Wanderers at the top of the table, while Portsmouth's point kept them in 18th place, just two points above the bottom two.

Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth told BBC Three Counties Radio:

Stevenage boss Graham Westley on Oxford

"I thought we defended really well and in the second half we dominated them. I think 0-0 is a fair reflection of this game.

"I think that's six clean sheets in seven games now. We need to find the net at the other end and make those clean sheets count.

"They've done their homework. They've changed from last week, which they had to really. It was a game of two halves, if you'd been at the game you would have seen that.

"Elusive today, that final touch. But we'll take a point. We were a goal away today from three points and we would have stayed top of the league."

Portsmouth manager Andy Awford told BBC Radio Solent:

Awford on Wycombe v Portsmouth

"We deserved the point, it was a very good performance but we need to start turning these draws into wins.

"We've drawn three out of five and could have won all three of those.

"We had a lot of chances and should have been out of sight at halftime. Everyone in the ground would struggle to disagree with that.

"We carved them open time after time and it was a good, solid performance."
