Glenavon earned a dramatic late win over Glentoran

An injury-time goal from Gary Hamilton gave Glenavon victory over his former club Glentoran at the Oval.

James Singleton headed in from six yards after meeting Kevin Braniff's floated free-kick in the 15th minute.

The Glens levelled on 53 when David Scullion crossed for Stephen Gordon to slide the ball past Alan Blayney for his third goal in three games.

Substitute Hamilton shot home past Elliott Morris from the edge of the box two minutes into added time.

The home side came into the match with an impressive record of 19 points from their last nine games, but are now just one point ahead of the Lurgan Blues in the table.

Scullion looped an effort just off-target in the early stages but Singleton gave the visitors a deserved lead, then saw another header cleared off the line by Steven McCullough five minutes before the interval.

Gordon's strike brought the sides level and Allen had a chance to nudge Eddie Patterson's outfit ahead, but fired past Blayney's post for what proved to be a costly miss.
