Newport's Adam Chapman in action against Burton Albion
Newport County returned to the League Two play-off places with victory at Burton Albion

Miles Storey's spectacular strike gave Newport County victory at League Two leaders Burton Albion.

Storey, on loan from Swindon Town, scored a stunning volley as Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink suffered a first home defeat since taking charge at Burton.

Newport's second win under Jimmy Dack sees them move up to seventh and back into the play-off places.

Burton remain top of League Two with three points separating them and second-placed Shrewsbury Town.

Burton Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink told BBC Radio Derby:

Hasselbaink on Burton v Newport

"It's frustrating in a way because it was always going to be a difficult game, but what do you do? Do you change certain people? You lose on Tuesday, do you want to give them the confidence?

"They had the whole week to prepare and we didn't. They looked fresher and we weren't cute enough in certain areas.

"You can say if the ball off the post goes in, then you have a little breather and the game opens up and you can control it a little bit more. But it wasn't meant to be, but it's only disappointing the way the ball went in."

Newport County manager Jimmy Dack told BBC Radio Wales:

"Not many teams come here and win a game so we're delighted with that. We're working hard on the training ground and we had a game plan to come up here.

"The boys stuck to the game plan and it's really rewarding for us when we're working hard on the training ground and they're sticking to what we want to do.

"That was the pleasing thing for me and to top it off with a seven pass move with a finish by Miles which was completely out of the top drawer."
