Alex Smithies: Huddersfield goalkeeper extends contract
Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Alex Smithies has signed a contract extension to keep him at the Championship club until 2018.
The 24-year-old has made 234 league appearances for the Terriers following his debut in 2007 at the age of 17.
He scored the winning penalty in Town's shoot-out victory over Sheffield United in the 2012 League One play-off final.
"I'm delighted Alex has committed his long-term future to the club," boss Chris Powell told the club website.
