Villarreal 1-3 Sevilla

Vitolo
Vitolo scored twice against Borussia Monchengladbach in the last round.

Sevilla's Vitolo scored the fastest goal in Europa League history as the holders beat Villarreal 3-1 in their last-16 first-leg match.

Vitolo netted after just 13.21 seconds from Kevin Gameiro's lofted pass almost straight from the kick-off.

The goal beats the previous record, set by AEK's Ismael Blanco in the inaugural season in 2009, by nearly two seconds.

Goals from Stephane M'bia and Gameiro, either side of Luciano Vietto's strike for Villarreal, sealed the win.

Argentinian striker Gonzalo Higuain scored a hat-trick as Italian side Napoli fought back from conceding inside two minutes to end Dinamo Moscow's unbeaten run in this season's competition with a 3-1 defeat at the Stadio San Paolo.

The Russian visitors took the lead through Kevin Kuranyi but had Roman Zobnin sent off shortly after the break.

A second-half brace from former Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne helped German side Wolfsburg recover from going a goal down after five minutes at the Volkswagen Arena to secure a 3-1 win against Italian giants Inter Milan.

There was another fight back in Belgium where a Tom De Sutter strike and Lior Rafaelov's 79th-minute penalty cancelled out Gokhan Tore's opener for Turkish side Beskitas as Club Brugge won 2-1.

Seydou Keita headed in from Alessandro Florenzi's 77th-minute corner to give Roma what could prove to be a vital away goal and earn a 1-1 draw against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Viola goalkeeper Neto had saved a penalty from Roma's Adem Ljajic moments earlier.

Goals from Axel Witsel and Domenico Criscito either side of the break gave Russian side Zenit St Petersburg a 2-0 win against Italian visitors Torino, who had Marco Benassi sent off after 27 minutes.

Roman Zozulya's left-footed strike was enough to give Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk a 1-0 win against Dutch champions Ajax in Ukraine.
