Dungannon secure Premiership safety thanks to late winner

A last-gasp goal from Jamie Glackin secured a draw for Dungannon Swifts and ensured that they will avoid being involved in a relegation play-off.

Warrenpoint Town are sure to finish 11th however so they will face the second-placed team in the Championship over two legs at the end of the season.

Darren King headed home Liam Bagnall's corner in the 15th minute, with the help of Terry Fitzpatrick's deflection.

Glackin wrong-footed Jonathan Parr from the edge of the box in the last minute.

The visitors had early chances to score but Stephen Hughes's shot was deflected wide and Mark Hughes's resulting corner was palmed away by Andy Coleman.

King stooped to head his side in front, while Andy Mitchell struck the woodwork for the Swifts.

Prior to the interval, Darren Hughes had another effort blocked, while Gary Liggett's low strike was saved by Parr.

Parr made another fine stop from Glackin in the second half but was helpless to prevent the same player scoring in the closing stages.
