Derry City will have home advantage after being drawn against Shamrock Rovers in the EA Sports Cup quarter-finals next month.

City's last-eight encounter with last year's beaten finalists will take place at the Brandywell on 18/19 May.

The sides met in a Premier Division game last Friday night and a lacklustre affair ended scoreless.

Holders Dundalk visit UCC, Cork City host St Pat's Athletic and Galway United entertain Bohemians.

Derry defeated Rovers 2-0 in an FAI Ford Cup semi-final replay at the Brandywell last October.

Peter Hutton's side has made a steady start to the league campaign and sit in seventh while the unbeaten Dubliners are fourth.

The Candystripes progressed to the quarter-finals thanks to a 2-0 extra-time victory over Sligo Rovers earlier this month.
