Barrow AFC promoted to Conference after two-year absence
Barrow have ended a two-year exile from the Conference top tier after being crowned champions of Conference North following a 3-2 win at Lowestoft Town.
The Bluebirds finished two points clear of AFC Fylde at the top of the division with the victory.
The promotion comes on the back of a takeover by Barrow-born businessman Paul Casson in September.
They finished 11th last term, but have not been out of the top two this campaign since October 2014.
Lowestoft were blown away by Darren Edmondson's side, as Niall Cowperthwaite, Sam Sheridan and Jason Walker put the visitors 3-0 up.
Jack Ainsley and Curtis Haynes-Brown scored for the hosts to set up a nervy finish, but Barrow hung on to claim the title.
