North Ferriby United: Conference North club will not be relegated

North Ferriby players celebrate at Wembley
North Ferriby's FA Trophy win was the biggest success in the club's 81-year history

North Ferriby United have dismissed claims by their own players that the club is facing voluntary relegation from the Conference North.

Defender Nathan Peat had said on social media that the Villagers could be demoted "one, maybe two leagues".

But North Ferriby tweeted: "The club would like to announce and reassure all concerned that North Ferriby United will continue in the Conference North."

Owners Eman and Steve Forster put the club up for sale on 16 April.

Eman is the daughter, and Steve the son-in-law, of Hull City owner Assem Allam.

North Ferriby finished 10th in the Conference North this term, and won the FA Trophy by beating Wrexham on penalties at Wembley.
