Wembley officials have apologised to Middlesbrough fans for misspelling their team's name on tickets for the Championship play-off final.

Tickets for Monday's game with Norwich called the club 'Middlesborough'.

Aitor Karanka's Boro reached the final after beating Brentford 5-1 on aggregate in the previous round.

A statement said: "Wembley Stadium would like to apologise to Middlesbrough FC and its fans for this mistake, it was a human error."

It added: "These tickets will still be valid for Monday's game.

"We hope that it does not detract from what will be an excellent game."

Norwich, meanwhile, have cautioned their supporters against putting pictures of their tickets on social media.

The club have warned that the bar codes could be copied by counterfeiters.
