Birmingham City have confirmed that Ireland international goalkeeper Darren Randolph is set to leave the club.

Randolph, 28, who had turned down a new contract offer at St Andrew's, is now expected to join a Premier League side.

The former Charlton Athletic keeper has made 92 appearances for Blues since signing from Motherwell in May 2013.

"Unfortunately, Darren has informed us he will be leaving and naturally we are sorry to see him go," said Blues manager Gary Rowett.

"He has been an excellent player for us. Success breeds success and players do get other opportunities put before them which they feel they have to take.

"Darren leaves with our very best wishes and our thanks for his contribution. As a club we now move on and we look elsewhere."

Meanwhile, Blues have signed young striker Alex Jones following his release by West Bromwich Albion.

Wolverhampton-born Albion Academy product Jones, 20, who is yet to make a first team appearance, has signed a two-year contract following a successful two-game trial.
