Macclesfield Town striker Chris Holroyd has agreed a new one-year contract.

The 28-year-old initially joined the Silkmen on loan in 2012 but made the move permanent after a five-month stint at Morecambe.

Holroyd, who was born in Macclesfield, has spent time at Chester, Cambridge, Brighton, Rotherham and Preston.

"I said last summer that this was the only club that I wanted to sign for and it was the same again this summer," he told the club website.

He joins George Pilkington, Ritchie Branagan, Paul Turnbull and Danny Rowe in signing new deals this week.
