England's Alex Pritchard is out of the European Under-21 Championship after suffering ankle ligament damage in the win over Sweden.

The Tottenham midfielder, 22, played 55 minutes in England's 1-0 win on Sunday before limping off.

Manager Gareth Southgate will not be able to bring a replacement into his squad in the Czech Republic.

England play Italy in their final group game on Wednesday, knowing victory will secure them a place in the semi-finals.

Everton defender John Stones is expected to feature in that match, having returned to training on Monday for the first time since suffering concussion in training before England's opening fixture against Portugal.
