Carlisle United: Alexander McQueen and Angelo Balanta sign
Former Tottenham defender Alexander McQueen has signed a one-year contract at Carlisle United while winger Angelo Balanta has signed a short-term deal.
McQueen, 20, played for the Spurs development side and has been part of the senior squad.
Although the Londoner is yet to make a first-team appearance, he can play full-back and also in central midfield.
Balanta, 24, rejected an offer from Bristol Rovers for an offer that runs until the end of the calendar year.
He began his career with QPR before spells at Wycombe, MK Dons, Yeovil and Rovers, and has played 127 games in total.
"Alex is a player we have tracked for a number of years. I first saw him play an U21 game for Spurs away at Sunderland and I was very impressed," head of recruitment Lee Dykes said.
Meanwhile on Balanta he added: "On his day, Angelo can be one of the best players in this division.
"The manager knows him well and that has been a huge part of getting this deal done."
