Newcastle United wing-back Shane Ferguson will remain on loan to Millwall until 9 January 2016 after the clubs agreed an extension.

Ferguson, 24, initially joined the Lions on a 93-day deal in early August, and has featured in four matches so far this term.

However, an ongoing hamstring injury has limited his appearances at the New Den under manager Neil Harris.

The Northern Ireland international has made 18 senior appearances.

He has played 32 games in all competitions for his parent club in addition to loan spells at Birmingham City and Scottish side Rangers.
