Stevenage 2-2 York City

Scott Flinders' late penalty save helped York earn a point at Stevenage.

York took the lead when Eddie Nolan found the net with a right-footed shot from the edge of the box.

Chris Whelpdale equalised when he headed home Connor Ogilvie's cross before Charlie Lee nodded home his first of the campaign for Stevenage.

Luke Summerfield struck home a fine curling effort to equalise before Flinders saved Brett Williams' spot-kick to keep the score at 2-2.

Teddy Sheringham: Stevenage boss on York draw

"I wasn't best pleased first half. I had a little shout from the crowd after 35, 40 minutes asking why aren't we playing like last week? Football doesn't happen like that.

"We wanted to play like last week, we wanted to get on the front foot. But you've got 11 players out there trying to stop us playing like we played last week.

"Credit to them, they came and put us under pressure in the first half. After the first half I was delighted to get a point out of it.

"But when you're 2-1 up, have penalties and chances, you don't expect to win but you would have liked to have one."

York City manager Russ Wilcox told BBC Radio York:

Wilcox on Stevenage v York

"Mixed emotions, First and foremost, it was a terrific game that had everything.

"We spoke at half time about being on the front foot and getting the next goal.

"I'm not one to criticise referees but he's got to see the blatant push on Marvin McCoy. A few bits have happened after that but he sees that and gives a free-kick, we're playing down the other end of the pitch. It was a key goal.

"But it was great togetherness and team spirit."
