Midfielder Juan Mata has named his best all-time Manchester United XI - picking only players from the past.

Treble-winning goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel is selected behind a defence that features Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra.

The 27-year-old credits David Beckham with "changing the club", selecting the former England captain in a midfield also containing Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sir Bobby Charlton and George Best are the only pre-90s players in the team - they are selected alongside Eric Cantona in attack.
