Matthew Tipton celebrates his goal against Warrenpoint

Goals from Matthew Tipton and David Cushley saw Ballymena United overcome Warrenpoint, who ended the game with 10 men after Stephen Moan was sent-off.

Tipton slotted home from six yards out after Tony Kane squared the ball to the striker in the 34th minute.

Cushley added the second with a low left-foot 25-yard free-kick which came off a post just after the interval.

Stephen Hughes fired in on the hour, then Moan was dismissed in the final minute after fouling Matthew Shevlin.

In the first half, Stephen Murray had a shot blocked by Jim Ervin, while Mark Hughes headed straight at Dwayne Nelson.

Cushley flashed an effort wide for the Sky Blues, before Tipton put the visitors in front, and Cushley extended the lead after 47 minutes.

Stephen Hughes pulled one back after Nelson fumbled Daniel Hughes' cross from the left.

Ballymena move up to eighth in the table, while Warrenpoint remain bottom.
