Wrexham manager Gary Mills has said performances need to improve following their cross-border derby loss at Chester.

Mills said Wrexham were "second best from start to finish" in the 3-2 defeat.

The Dragons host Tranmere in another derby on Tuesday and Mills wants a response after two successive defeats.

"That's not a performance that's going to get us where we want to get to," Mills said.

"We have to move on and go for the next one.

"We've lost two games now and we can't afford to lose a third. We've got to go and show what we're made of and stand up and be counted."
