Southend United 1-0 Blackpool

Blackpool suffered a sixth consecutive defeat in all competitions as Adam Thompson scored the winning goal and his first ever for Southend.

Kevan Hurst should have done better with two first-half chances but took too long to shoot at goal.

Andy Little then headed onto the crossbar for the Seasiders.

Centre-back Thompson ended a run of four games without a win for the hosts when he headed in from David Worrall's inswinging cross after the break.
