MK Dons manager Karl Robinson is yet to figure on the losing side after his second trip to Molineux

Wolves were held to their third home goalless draw in six matches as Championship strugglers MK Dons earned a point at Molineux.

Kenny Jackett's men have won just twice in nine Championship matches in front of their own fans this season.

Wolves dominated, but former Dons striker Benik Afobe was guilty of missing a number of chances.

That allowed Karl Robinson's visitors to pick up just their sixth point on the road this season.

The Dons' point saw them climb out of the relegation zone, moving up three places to 19th, while Wolves drop a place to 15th, just five points better off.

The harsh facts . . .
Kenny Jackett's Wolves have now won just once in their last eight league games, to drop seven points adrift of the play-off places
Only bottom club Bolton Wanderers (two) have picked up fewer points on the road this term than Milton Keynes Dons (six)

MK had won on their one previous trip to Molineux two years ago, when they won 2-0 to briefly disrupt Wolves' march to the League One title.

Robinson's side had to wait a season before they followed Wolves up from League One, in no small measure thanks to Afobe, who scored 19 goals on loan for the Dons before joining Wolves from Arsenal for £2m in January.

But, on his reunion with Robinson and his team, Afobe, as well as winger James Henry, was guilty of squandering some excellent chances.

Henry wasted two golden chances, shooting wide after Diego Poyet had lost possession, then just failing to divert home a Jordan Graham cross.

Afobe was picked out at the far post by Henry only to see his weak shot smothered by goalkeeper David Martin, who then saved his header from Henry's cross. Martin then twice denied Graham before Afobe fired over the bar from eight yards on the stroke of half-time.

Afobe was also denied by Martin early in the second half before his close-range shot was deflected for a corner, Kevin McDonald fired wide and David Edwards headed over.

But it was the Dons who could have won it through two of their substitutes as Carl Baker's 25-yard drive was spectacularly tipped around the post by Carl Ikeme, who again came to Wolves' rescue in stoppage time to thwart Daniel Powell.

Jackett on Wolves v MK Dons

"It is a concern, our league position. It is not where we want to be and you do start to look over your shoulder rather than looking up the table. We have to work out way through that.

"We have to maintain our belief and stick to our principles that quite a few of the things we are doing are right and then work away at where are lacking to turn what is now three draws on the trot into wins.

"Ultimately it is two points dropped rather than one gained. Some draws are very good as was the one at Ipswich last week.

"But we are disappointed to let two points slip through our fingers. Our finishing wasn't there."

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson:

Robinson on Wolves v MK Dons

"Wolves were very good in the first half. We looked disjointed and shaky at the back although we defended wonderfully well.

"We got more than we deserved. But, for me, the players' mentality and togetherness has deserved that point.

"I said to them that, when you are not there technically, your togetherness and desire has to come through and I don't think any one of my players has anything left in their body. We have to make sure that we give everything on a weekly basis.

"We are the minnows in this league and teams who have the bottom budget are by now well adrift, but the players are over-achieving and that is down to their talent and desire."
