Crewe Alexandra striker Lauri Dalla Valle is set to miss up to three months after damaging ankle ligaments.

The Finnish forward, 24, suffered the injury while playing for the Alex's development side against Leeds United on Monday.

Dalla Valle was building his fitness after nearly a month out with a neck problem and will not return this year.

He joins the long-term absentees Harry Davis (knee) and George Ray (broken ankle) on the sidelines at Gresty Road.

Crewe, next-to-bottom of League One in 23rd place, hope to have midfielders Brad Inman and David Fox available after injury for their next game against Doncaster Rovers on 12 December.
