John Sheridan: Newport County have 'the players to stay up'
Newport County boss John Sheridan says his players are good enough to stay in League Two and believes they are "finding their level" in the division.
The Exiles lie 20th in the table, seven points clear of the relegation zone, after Saturday's 2-2 draw at home to AFC Wimbledon.
Speaking to BBC Radio Wales, Sheridan said: "Have we got players to win us the league? No.
"But I think I've got the players to keep us in the division."
Newport led 2-0 before Wimbledon fought back, but the draw saw County avoid defeat for the 10th time in their last 11 games in all competitions.
Sheridan feels his side need to improve their communication if they are to climb up the table.
"We are very, very quiet as a team," he added. "Too quiet.
"I think we've got players on the pitch who could be more vocal.
"We're playing good stuff at the moment. We are where we are are, in the division. We are second division (League Two) footballers."
