Nigel Clough: Burton boss not looking to replace El Khayati

Burton Albion do not plan to replace top-scorer Nasser El Khayati, according to manager Nigel Clough.

The League One leaders beat Bradford 3-1 on Saturday and are four points clear of Walsall and five clear of third-placed Wigan, with a game in hand.

Clough said the sale of El Khayati, who joined Championship side QPR last month, does not mean they will make signings in the emergency loan window.

"There is nothing desperate in any position," Clough told BBC Radio Derby.

"We have a decent enough squad to deal with most things so as long as we don't get any injuries, I think we are okay at the moment."

El Khayati scored eight goals in 26 games for the Brewers this season, but before selling the Dutch forward, Clough brought in Mason Bennett on loan from Derby County.
