Marcus Martin: St Austell player banned for 27 months after admitting improper conduct
AFC St Austell's Marcus Martin has been suspended from football for 27 months for attacking a referee.
The incident happened after he was sent off, having reacted angrily to a penalty awarded against his side.
Martin pleaded guilty to improper conduct under FA rule E3, which covers physical contact, violent conduct and threatening and/or abusive language or behaviour against a match official.
The former Exeter City and Truro midfielder has also been fined £150.
St Austell lost 4-1 in the South West Peninsula League Premier Division fixture against Tavistock on 26 April.
