Carlisle defender Tom Miller has signed a new two-year deal, keeping him at Brunton Park until the summer of 2018.

The 25-year-old joined the Cumbrians on a one-year contract after he decided to leave Lincoln City in June 2015.

In his first season in the Football League, Miller scored five goals in 35 appearances.

"He showed he could make the step up and the pleasing thing is that we feel there is still more to come," Carlisle United manager Keith Curle said.

"We felt he adjusted well to life in league football. He's a hard worker and he wants to learn. He's keen to progress and push on with his career at an age where he is ready to make an impact."
