The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) has confirmed it will host the inaugural 2016 Cecafa Women's Challenge Cup in September.
The competition will be played in Kampala from 11-24 September.
Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, South Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda, Ethiopia and hosts Uganda are among the participants.
Eritrea, Zanzibar, Somalia, Djibouti and Zanzibar, the other Cecafa members, are yet to confirm. Namibia, Zimbabwe and Malawi have requested guest spots.
Fufa president Moses Magogo told BBC Sport that the governing body is "busy hunting for sponsors to come on board so that we can have a successful event".
