Liam Rosenior warns Brighton will face added expectation in the Championship
Brighton defender Liam Rosenior says the side will have to cope with added expectation in the Championship.
The Seagulls missed out on automatic promotion on goal difference last season and were then beaten in the play-offs by Sheffield Wednesday.
"Other teams will have a different attitude towards us this year," the 32-year-old told BBC Sussex.
"We need to deal with that pressure as it comes when you do well. It might be a different environment for us."
Brighton began last season with a club record 21-match unbeaten run and then finished the regular campaign unbeaten in 14 matches.
However, a 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough on the final day saw both sides finish level on 89 points and Boro took second place with a superior goal difference.
"The way it ended hurt," Rosenior added.
"When you gain 89 points that is usually a promotion season. The new campaign has come round so quickly, which is a really good thing.
"It gives us an opportunity to go again and realise we do have the potential to achieve promotion this year if we put things together."
Brighton begin the new Championship season away to Derby County on Saturday.
