Reuben Reid will bring something different to Exeter City's attack, according to manager Paul Tisdale.

Reid made his debut in Saturday's 2-0 derby defeat by his former club Plymouth Argyle, having joined City on 13 September after being a free agent since leaving the Pilgrims in June.

But Reid has scored just one goal in the past 11 months - a penalty against York City for Argyle in March.

"I think he's going to bring another dimension to us," Tisdale said.

"The next game or two will tell how he'll settle into the team."

Exeter used the 28-year-old former Rotherham striker as a substitute on Saturday.

"He's had two training sessions with us and now 30 minutes of football," added Tisdale.

"He's athletically fit, he's been working hard over the summer and he's in good shape, but there's a big difference between that and a player that can play 90 minutes.

"That's a task for him and us to get him ready as soon as possible, but without taking a risk on him. We've signed him for the long haul, not for a couple of weeks, so I'd like to get him in the team as quickly as possible."
