Luton Town will not be forced to sell any of their promising youngsters, according to manager Nathan Jones.

Academy graduates James Justin and Akin Famewo, both 17, started Tuesday's League Two draw at Hartlepool.

"They won't be going anywhere. They're happy here. We showed in the last transfer window we're not a selling club," said Jones.

"We're a progressive club taking forward strides. If they want first-team football, here is the chance."

He continued to BBC Three Counties Radio: "This is a real grounded group and there's a pathway for them here. So if they continue that development, one way or another they're going to play at a higher level."

The Hatters, currently second in League Two, also gave a first start to on-loan Newcastle United winger Alex Gilliead.

"I know what he has because I've watched him since he was 16 or 17-years-old," Jones said of the 20-year-old.

"He's a thoroughbred and I genuinely believe he will be a Premier League player."
