Oxford United: Michael Appleton bemoans penalty decision luck
Oxford United head coach Michael Appleton feels his team are due "five or six penalties" should luck of refereeing decisions even itself out.
Appleton labelled a penalty awarded against them during Saturday's 2-2 draw at Port Vale as "embarrassing".
Oxford surrendered a two-goal lead as they were forced to take a point from the trip to Vale Park in League One.
"We just need to take it on the chin and hope one or two decisions go our way," Appleton told BBC Radio Oxford.
Ryan Taylor's equaliser from the spot for Port Vale was the fourth penalty Oxford have had awarded against them this season.
"Ultimately, people tell me it (luck) does level itself out over a season," Appleton added.
"If that's the case, then we've probably got five or six penalties to look forward to over the next 30 games.
"For us to lose two points to a poor decision disappoints me."
