Former assistant manager Darren Caskey has left Wrexham, the National League club has confirmed.

Caskey is expected to join former Wrexham manager Gary Mills at fellow National League side York City.

Wrexham said the former Tottenham Hotspur, Reading and Notts County midfielder has tendered his ''resignation."

Mills was re-appointed York manager three days after he was sacked by Wrexham on 13 October.

Dean Keates has been appointed Mills' successor at Wrexham and will be assisted by Andy Davies.

Meanwhile, Mills has made his first signing since returning to Bootham Crescent.

The Minstermen have signed Birmingham City midfielder Charlie Cooper, 19, on a one-month loan deal.
