Newport County have said they will not welcome an approach for manager Graham Westley, who is being linked with League Two rivals Grimsby Town.

Ex-Preston boss Westley, 48, has been in charge of County for less than a month after succeeding Warren Feeney.

A County spokesman said: 'We have not had an approach for Graham and we would not welcome one.''

Grimsby are looking for a new manager after Paul Hurst left to join Shrewsbury Town.

Former Cardiff City manager Dave Jones and Solihull Moors boss Marcus Bignot, brother of Newport defender Paul, are among the bookmakers' favourites for the Blundell Park vacancy.
